I. Examples of Direct Conversations with Animals
On January 1, 2004, Ms. T's second master in the spirit world interrupted our finger reading experiment in an unusual manner. After learning his identity and being accepted as his pupil, Ms. T began to meditate daily and practiced her techniques in communicating with animals. By the end of that year, Ms. T had already grasped the basic skills and could talk with certain animals. I. Upon Meeting Mr. Chen Taoqiu, Collector of Ancient Literature on Extrasensory Perception (ESP)
In October 1997, the fourth "Chinese Somatic Science Conference" was held in Beijing, and hundreds of researchers on somatic science from China, Japan, and Taiwan had gathered at the Beijing City Library for a three-day conference on the latest research results on extrasensory perception (ESP) in humans. In October, the wind was already biting in Beijing and the temperature neared zero degree Celsius. Nevertheless, the venue was warmed by passionate debates, and everyone was anxious for new findings and surprises. Everyone was filled with a sense of pride and mission, for leading cutting-edge science and pioneering mankind to explore the wonders and myths of the universe within our anatomies.

1. Realizing finger reading can be trained
The superpowers of the human body are always dazzling and enviable. Jesus cast out demons and healed diseases, walked on the sea, turned water into wine, and fed five thousand people with a slice of bread. The Buddha had six supernatural powers: Divine Realm, Heavenly Eye, Heavenly Ear, the penetration of others' thoughts, the penetration of past lives, and the penetration of the extinction of outflows. He has the ability to travel through time and space, transform everything with no obstacles. Taoist immortals or Zhenren, such as Lu Dongbin, Zhang Sanfeng, etc., can break through spatial barriers. We also know that these abilities are only possessed by a very small number of people, and most of us can only feel inadequate. However, Associate Professor Chen Shouliang of the Department of Biology, then Dean of Academic Affairs of Peking University, and his wife Associate Professor He Muyan, deconstructed this myth in 1979.

1. A small spin by nature
The last day of the spring break in early April 2002 was a Sunday afternoon. I was rushing to the Electrical Engineering building with the materials, preparing to start the monthly children's finger reading training camp. The purpose of this camp was to gather the children who had already demonstrated this ability once a month and spend three hours practicing, so as not to lose their ability without practicing at home. In early April, the azaleas at on the NTU campus were gradually wilting, but they still attracted some flower-viewing crowds. The square in front of the hall is often used as an activity venue for various groups during holidays, with a lot of hustle and bustle.

1. Email from an elementary school teacher
Since I stepped down from the administrative post as the Vice President for Academic Affairs of NTU in August 2002, I decided to return to my alma mater Stanford University to recharge. On the one hand, the trip was meant to relieve the pressure over the years. On the other hand, I could learn about the latest development of quantum computers. Therefore, with the funding of the National Science Council, I came to Palo Alto in the middle of the month and moved into a rented house. The climate in the Bay Area of California was still a little chilly in the morning and evening, and it became warmer under the sun at noon. The continental climate is cool and dry, not stuffy and never makes people sweaty, making a long-sleeved shirt ideal even in summer. In winter, it gets a little bit colder in the morning and evening, about ten to fifteen degrees lower than that of summer, but the pattern of temperature changes is not so different. There is no need to wear heavy fur. I fell in love with it when I was studying here for my Ph.D. more than 20 years ago. The climate here is really heaven on earth.
